Understanding Skin Health and the Skin Microbiome
Many people don’t realise that the skin is not just a surface—it is an active, living system that plays an important role in overall health and regulation.
The skin has its own microbiome, made up of microorganisms that help protect the body, support the immune system, and maintain the skin’s natural barrier.
This barrier plays a key role in how the body responds to the external environment, and is closely linked to inflammation, sensitivity, and overall balance within the system.
When the skin microbiome is disrupted—through harsh products, environmental factors, or ongoing stress—it can affect how the skin functions and how the body responds more broadly.
This is something Suzanne became more aware of through her own health journey, and through a growing understanding of how different systems within the body are interconnected.
Supporting the skin is not simply about appearance—it is about helping to maintain the integrity of this protective system, and reducing unnecessary stress on the body.
Suzanne has chosen to partner with Tropic as a way of supporting this, due to their focus on nourishing the skin, working in alignment with the skin’s natural processes, and maintaining a strong ethical approach to ingredients and production.
Supporting Your Skin, Whilst Making a Difference
Offering pro bono and reduced-fee work has always been important to Suzanne. However, with the increasing number of people seeking this level of support, it has become increasingly challenging to meet that need alone.
In 2024, one of Suzanne’s clients generously raised funds to help others access this work after experiencing their own transformation. This made it possible to support more people, and showed just how powerful it can be to make this work more accessible.
This led to the creation of the Trauma & Transformation Therapy Fund—which was a great way to extend that support further and help more individuals access the help when they need it most.
As part of this initiative, Suzanne has chosen to partner with Tropic, allowing this fund to continue being supported in an ongoing and sustainable way.
**100% of all commission generated through Tropic products purchased via Suzanne’s link is now placed directly into this fund**
This means that by choosing to care for your own wellbeing in this way, you are also helping to make this work accessible to others who may need it.
